They were more of items that I thought would could in handy. Boy was I right.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kitchen Gadgets to Lose Weight&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;One of my favorite kitchen gadgets to help me to lose weight is my &lt;a href="http://hubpages.com/hub/Buy-an-Ice-Tea-Maker-Online"&gt;ice tea maker&lt;/a&gt;. I have a Mr Coffee 3 quart Ice Tea Maker. It has kept me on the right tracking of always choosing something healthy to drink when I am at home. Before I had this little wonder, when I wanted something to drink other then coffee and water, I would reach for a glass of juice. This was not good to my weight loss plan. Juice is full of calories. Now I just grab a glass of fresh brewed ice tea.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Number Two&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My second kitchen gadgets to lose weight is my water filter pitcher. I was spending a lot of money each month buying a case of bottles of water. This was not helping to keep my finances in order. Because of the high cost, I would rarely grab a bottle unless I was on my way out the door for the day. With my water filter, I now grab a glass of water to drink whenever I think about it. I also have a reusable aluminum bottle for my water on the go. This is a must if you want to lose weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Number Three&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just used this next one for the first time tonight. My first thoughts were why did I not buy one of these sooner. It is the George Foreman Grill the small one. For my daughter and I, this is going to keep us out of the drive thrus of fast food places. It was quick and easy to make these burgers. The fat dripped away. I am sure overall it was much less calories then the fast food version. I tend to get a lot of tips about finances and what I need to do to better my situation. You are probably thinking, ok that is great but what does it have to do with weight loss. I saw an episode a little while ago where Suze was talking about health and how your finances directly affect your health. This included in large part gaining weight. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have said before that other then I eat when I am bored, I really did not know what might be the triggers to my weight gain. So I decided to explore this idea further. If my financial state directly affects my &lt;a href="http://www.infobarrel.com/Must_Have_Tools_to_Help_You_to_Lose_Weight"&gt;weight loss&lt;/a&gt; abilities then I have two big things in my life that I need to work on. So here goes...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;My Finances&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am not in the best financial state. I do not have thousands in the bank and own my own house. I work to make ends meet every month. On the other hand, I am not in a terrible financial state. I live by a good budget and have very little debt. Most of this debt being school loans that I took out to study medical billing. I am in a pretty good place and working to make it better. This is probably why I am seeing my weight loss improve.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I see a light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to making money. I do not worry from day to day about how I am going to pay bills. I see my hard work paying off and I am happy. I believe that this health and finances things being linked is showing in my current lifestyle. I have not attained my weight loss goals yet, and neither have I gotten to my financial goals. I do see improvements every day on getting to them.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;In The Past&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My finances have not always been so stable. I had a time in life where I would get calls and letters from bill collectors every day. I ended up filing bankruptcy a few years ago. It was because of some bad choices that I made early in life and could never really get back under control. Guess what? The same thing happened to my weight at that time. Weight loss was something that was not happening no matter how much I dieted back then. I could never get my waist size under control. I might lose a couple of pounds one month. The next month I would out back on twice as much. Yes, I was the poster child of diet yo yo'ing. I now see a direct correlation with this and how my finances were out of control. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I felt lost back then. Both with my weight loss and finances and it showed. Now that I have learned a lot about both, I feel like I can better control things. It is showing in the fit of clothes and the ability to live on a budget. I am happier and not worried about money and for this reason weight loss is now going better as well. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Are you struggling with weight loss because of your finances? I am working at trying to lose weight to become healthier. I am not completely giving up the things that I enjoy to do it. I am just making small changes to my lifestyle that I know that I can continue on for my life. Now one of the things that anyone who wants to lose weight has to do is to figure out why they are overweight. I am no exception.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;How would I expect to lose weight and to keep it off if I do not know what is causing me to be overweight. If you do not know the cause of something then you are never going to be able to change it. This is just a simple truth that works with anything in your life. So it is time to do a little exploring of why I am overweight..&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;My Truth&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am an emotional over eater. My emotions tend to drive what I eat and how much. Now I do not have the tell tale signs that many people who are overweight do. I do not start crying and go for the pint of ice cream. Ok, I may have done this when I was in college. This is not the way that I stay overweight today. I do not drink alcohol to combat being angry or upset with someone. This could cause all of these unwanted pounds around my mid section if it was the way that I dealt with things. So what is my emotional trigger for eating?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Boredom&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, it is that simple. It is not a life changing event that has caused me to be overweight. This may be good news to some people that want to lose weight. Unfortunately, it makes my trip a little more difficult. If there was one moment that something changed inside of me whether it was depression or hurt then I would have something to truly battle. Boredom is more difficult for me to work around.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I spend a lot of time by myself sitting alone in my apartment. My daughter goes down for bed at a very reasonable time for her age. It is usually about 8 at night. This means that I am by myself for at least 4 hours after she goes down. I can not go out because I do not have anyone to watch her most of the time. I try not to make too much noise so as to wake her as she sleeps. So boredom creeps up on me through the course of the night.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I can start out with a plan of attach for my freelance writing work and what to watch on TV. By about 10:30 or 11, I am thinking about grabbing a snack out of the kitchen. It is not because I am hungry. I start thinking about grabbing something because I am bored. Sometimes I cave into these thoughts. Other times I grab a glass of water and try to find something to do.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is something that I will have to find a way to work on. This is especially an important question when it comes to my weight loss goals. Am I doing this for someone else? Did I decide that I needed to lose weight so that I would be more attractive when I go out to meet people? These are just some of the reasons that I may have thought about when I set my weight loss goals. But what is really motivating me.... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Health&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Ok, I am not the healthiest person on the planet. This coming from the woman who's caffeine addiction is legendary among friends. I like to eat and I am not that big on working out. Sounds like the complete opposite of someone who should be writing a blog about losing weight right? The thing is that I am like many people out there. I do not have the best habits but I do have a desire to be healthy. I hate it when I am feeling like I am going to fall asleep in the middle of the day. I do not like the fact that my skin is breaking out more now then it did when I was a teenager. This all has to do with me being not healthy. So what is healthy to me?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I find that when I am at a normal weight for my height and I am eating better then I do now that I feel better. The key indicator of my health to me is how much energy that I have through out the day. If I can keep going and feel motivated to go out and do things then I know that I am on the right track. This can also go hand in hand with being depressed. When I do not have the energy to do things, I tend to get depressed that I am just sitting around. Yes, this is a terrible cycle to be in. You would have thought that after all of these years of going through this that I would learn. Well, I did.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I know that it is important to eat well and to get up and move. Well, I finally have a big test in front of me to put my money where my mouth is so to speak. I am unemployed. I was laid off last week and now have all the time in the world to focus on my weight loss goals. I can take my daughter out and go for hikes. I can cook healthy meals for us instead of grabbing something fast on the way home. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Other People&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now if I said that I do not care what other people think of me, I would be lying. I do think appearance and image are important. I however do not feel that I need to lose weight for other people's acceptance. I used to feel this way. Thankfully, I have come to the point in my life that I am happy with who I am on the inside. I do not need other people in my life to feel complete. I am not looking to date or for a relationship. During the week there is a set schedule from day to day that makes it easy to follow a plan of healthy eating. I admit that I fall prey to this problem often myself. This weekend was no exception in the battle to lose weight. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The thing is that I refuse to beat myself up and feel guilty when I would choose something that was unhealthy. That is not a realistic way to live. If I want to lose weight, I need to realize that my healthy choices need to out number my unhealthy ones. There are going to be times in my life when I am going to want to indulge. I should feel free to enjoy these things. I believe to find a balance in this will be key to getting to my weight loss goals. So what did I do this weekend?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Beer&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I enjoy a drink from time to time. There are evenings that relaxing with a cold beer sounds perfect to me. I had about 3 michelob ultra ambers on Friday night. Yes, part of the reason that I drink this type of beer is because of my desire to lose weight. Will these types of empty calories slow down my ability to lose weight? Yes. However, I believe that enjoying myself from time to time is worth it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Ice Cream&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I do not usually have a sweet tooth. Many people who have weight loss goals complain that their desire for sweets is their downfall. This has never really been the case for me. Ice cream sounded food to me this weekend. A couple of bites in, the desire was satisfied. So I put down the spoon and I got rid of the rest of the bowl. As far as unhealthy choices, this was not bad.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Perfect&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am not perfect by any definition of the word. My first goal is to be happy. Yes, I could go on a very restrictive diet in order to lose weight. Would I be happy? Probably not. This is why I see the weight loss that I want as a goal, yet I still get to enjoy some of my favorite things in life. I have a feeling that it is not going to be easy. As you can see from past posts, I have often focused on weight loss tips and diet plan information that could help you to get to your goal weight. This was good and I like to help other people. The problem is that this did not motivate me to write. You can see this from the large gap in time since I last posted here. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Since I began this blog, I have managed to lose about 25 pounds. This is a fairly good weight loss number. After the birth of my daughter, I weighed 195 pounds. With my height being 5'1", this is severely overweight. This was very unhealthy for me. I always felt tired and depressed. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;a name='more'&gt;&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Weight Loss Till Now&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Yes, I lose those pounds. Can I give you an absolute answer on how I did it? No. Over the time that I dropped that weight, I tried to focus on a variety of things to get to my goal weight. However, it never failed that something would come up and I would lose focus. This the number one reason that I have not been able to lose weight better.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;For about 4 months, I went to the gym every morning before work for an hour. Stopped doing that due to my daughter's sleeping habits. Tried the Flat Belly Diet. Found it difficult to create my own mini meals while living at my parents. And so on, and so on. As you can see, I am the queen of excuses, especially when it comes to weight loss.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Accountability&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I need to hold myself more accountable to my weight loss goals. This is the reason for the refocus of this blog. If I post every week about what I am doing, I am more likely to succeed. My first weight loss goal is that I will fit into size 8 jeans by December 2010. My second weight loss goal is that I will lose 40 pounds by my 34th birthday. That is 7 months away. Now the idea of rebuying an entire wardrobe is not something that I look forward to. I enjoy the weight loss that I have seen. I know that my clothes are starting to look baggy to the point of being sloppy. My problem is that it is a lot of money to put into clothing since I am not at my weight loss goal yet.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;Where I am at&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am down to a comfortable size 10 petite. This is a great place to be and I continue to see ongoing weight loss each week. The catch is this is not my true weight loss goal. I would love to get down to a size 6 petite. I have been at this spot in my life before and I believe that it is attainable as a weight loss goal. The desire to lose weight is a very common one. From wanting to lose a few pounds to needing to lose a lot of weight, there are many ways to go on your weight loss journey. There is a misconception that it is hard to lose weight. The good news is that losing weight does not have to be hard. What does this mean? Well, there are a few ways that I could have planned for the situation that I was in. The first thing I could have done was have a healthy snack at the office about an hour before I was scheduled to leave work. I know that I am going to hit a lot of traffic on a Friday on the way home. By having a small healthy snack, I would not have had the hunger pains that I did on my drive home. If you have ever watched one of those reality weight loss shows on TV, they always say that you need to take at least 10,000 steps a day. If you do not have a pedometer, now may be a good time to invest in an inexpensive one. There are many ways to walk more during your day to lose weight fast. You can walk around your house as you talk on the phone. Parking farther away from buildings and taking the stairs instead of the elevator are two easy ways to take more steps during your day. Walking is one of the best workouts when it comes to losing weight, so do not under estimate the power of each step that you take to shed the pounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Turn your TV time into your workout time. Everyone likes to relax and unwind in the evening while watching TV. There are commercial breaks during whatever you are watching from sitcoms to sporting events. One of my favorite things to do is crutches during the commercial breaks. I will lay down on the floor and do sets of 20 crutches until my show comes back on to lose weight fast. You can also do an easy arm workout with free weights. This way you get to watch your favorite shows and get your workouts in as well.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Kick up your cleaning routine around your house. Ok, everyone needs to clean around the house and it seems that everyone is also looking to lose weight fast. Why not marry the two ideas together? Put on some up beat music and clean up at the speed at which the music is playing. When I was in high school, I was a size 16 if not bigger. College and just after were not much better in my quest to lose weight. I am a measly 5 foot 1 and show extra weight very easily. There are times that I think I have tried every weight loss plan on the planet. Some of these plans have worked and some have not. Many times I found the weight loss plans not to be something that I could follow.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;I Lost the Weight Finally&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At about the age of 25, I finally started to lose weight the way that I had always dreamed of. I got all the way down to a size 6 petite. Now this was the way that my body was supposed to look. I was ecstatic. I loved shopping for clothes and show off the results of my hard earned weight loss. I even managed to keep the weight over for a few years with some basic weight loss maintenance. I thought that I no longer would ever have to work to lose weight again. I was wrong.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;The Weight Came Back&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I got pregnant with my daughter and I started to gain weight like there was no tomorrow. Now you would think that I was binging and eating junk food like many do when they are pregnant. I did not do this. I was proud of the great weight loss that I had achieved in my life and did not want to mess it up. What made me gain so much weight was the fact that I had gestational diabetes while I was pregnant. I usually do not talk about my actual weight because I am not a big fan of scales. I find that stepping on a scale was always the best way to sabotage whatever weight loss plan that I was on. However with all the doctor visits from being pregnant, I can tell you I weighed 190 pounds the day I gave birth to my daughter.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;The Road Back&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;After I recovered from the C section that I needed to have, I was determined to lose weight and fast. However, things do not always work out the way that we plan. As I attempted to lose weight and get used to my new mommy role, I could not seem to lose more then a couple of pounds. My daughter will soon be 3 years old and I am still working to lose weight and get back to my pre-baby body.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-size:130%;"&gt;&lt;strong&gt;What I Know&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have learned a lot from all my trials of the many things that are out there to help you lose weight. I call this the shiny penny problem. As you are walking along the path to your weight loss goal, you will stop to check out a shiny penny on the path. Your attention will be diverted by this shiny object and therefore you will never make it to your goal and lose weight that you want to get rid of. This often happens  to people with the best of intentions. Most commonly this happens to people who want to lose weight fast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is very tempting to always try the newest and most talked about diets in the news. This is why all of the major companies make sure that their plan to lose weight fast is talked about all the time in the media. There is nothing wrong with initially choosing one of these weight loss programs to lose the weight that you want. It is possible that they will be the perfect plan for you to shed the pounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The problem arises when you decide to switch diet plans one month into your quest to lose weight fast. Often this is when you have not seen the drop in pounds on the scale that you wanted. It takes at least 6 months to know if a diet plan is really going to work for you. One month or even less time, is not enough time for a diet plan to get into your system and help your body to lose weight fast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There will be weight loss when you first start any diet plan. That being said, many of us are just too busy to remember to drink as much water as we need to if we want to lose weight fast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Just like anything that you want in life, you need to make an action plan to drink more water. Yes, this is just like setting goals when it comes to planning how you will lose weight fast. You need to map out your plan and goals to drink more water each day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Start out by setting a realistic goal for drinking water to lose weight fast and work your way up to the amount that your diet plan tells you that you need to drink. For the example action plan that we are talking about, we will put our goal at drinking 4 bottles of water a day.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Map out how you will drink 4 bottles of water a day. This can actually be very easy if you use a schedule and plan when during the day that you are going to drink each bottle of water to lose weight fast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;The Plan&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Drink one bottle between breakfast and lunch time. If you sit at a desk all day working, you can sip on the bottle of water as you do your work. On the go, plan to drink the bottle of water in the morning with your breakfast.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Drink the second bottle of water with lunch&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The third bottle you can drink on the second half of your workday.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Bottle number four will accompany your dinner.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;This is the easy no frills way to drink 4 bottles of water each day. I have implemented this action plan into my water drinking method to help me lose weight fast. It never fails. My stomach is growling. I used to be of the mindset to lose weight that I could not eat after 8 pm in the evening. This does not work when you are up and moving the hours that I am.&lt;br /&gt;I am a freelance writer in the evenings. After my daughter goes to bed for the night, I log into my computer and get to work. The problem with this is that I get very hungry while I am working. I have tried everything to not eat this late to lose weight. I drink water constantly while I am typing. This does help me to lose weight but it does not deal with this hunger.&lt;br /&gt;That is why I came up with some healthy late night snacks that I can have to lose weight. It is good to know ahead of time that this will come up and to have your pantry packed with great healthy late night snacks to get you through.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Light popcorn is one of my go to late night snacks to help me to lose weight. As long as you keep the portion small you will be all right with this one.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Low fat cheese sticks are another healthy snack option. Some times the body just needs that kick of protein late at night. The reason for this is that I am a mom and trying to lose weight. My beautiful daughter comes first in my life and my waist line shows this. So what is a single mother to do when it comes to weight loss and the struggles of being a mom?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Problem One&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It is easy to forget to eat when you are focused on taking care of someone else. One of the most important things to any weight loss plan is to eat small meals every two to three hours. I know this and I have seen it work wonders when I can follow it. Living my life as a single mom does not make this an easy task. There are many times that I get to putting my daughter to bed at night and realize that I have not eaten more then a couple of cookies all day. This will not lead to weight loss results that I want.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Solution&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Plan small meals and snacks that you can sit down and enjoy with your child. You want your children to eat healthy so teaching them to eat small healthy meals is a great way to start. When you feed your children, make it a point to sit down with them and eat the same healthy meal that they are having.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Problem Two&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There seems to be no way to squeeze in time to workout when you are busy all day taking care of a two year old. I used to be one of those people that would get to the gym at least 4 times a week. This helped me to tone and tighten my body to see great weight loss results. Now, I am lucky if I know where my gym pass is.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Solution&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take your child out to the park and explore. Go climb on the playground with your child. This one little secret to weight loss is so simple that everyone can add it to any diet plan that they are on. It is also one of the most over looked steps to lose weight. Drink more water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To be truthful, the secret to lose weight is to drink only water with whatever diet that you are on. The reason for this is that just about everything else that you drink has empty calories or sodium that causes you to retain water. These little add ons can be enough to make sure that you do not lose the weight that you want.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I was one of those people who tried to lose weight without giving up everything that I drank in favor of water. I used to drink diet soda believing that since it said that it was 0 calories that I would still lose weight. I lost some weight but did not see the weight loss results that I could have.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I gave up diet soda about a year ago. Now the only time that I have any soda is when I head out to see a baseball game. Even there, most times I opt for a bottle of water. This has helped to lose weight without even trying. Now, I will be the first to tell you that I am not a saint when it comes to drinking only water.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I still have my coffee with artificial sweetener in it. I am a caffeine addict, what can I say. I enjoy a cold beer or a glass of wine from time to time when I am out. I took a long four day weekend off from my full time job. It was a much needed break from a boring desk job. The only problem is that it seems that I took a break from my diet. I couldn’t seem to remember to take my Slimquick diet supplement as I needed to. I was not eating small meals every two to three hours like I had been doing. It was just a bad four days for my diet. I even went back to drinking soda this weekend. I felt terrible yesterday from not following my plan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;But today is a new day and I am getting back on track. That is one good thing that I have learned over my many years of dieting. No matter how badly I cheat on my diet, I can always go back to my plan. One little cheat does not mean that my diet is a failure. I have my good days and I have my bad days as any one who is trying to lose weight does. I do feel that I am making progress. I look thinner in my face. I have been trying to get back to my morning gym routine with no success for a couple of weeks. My 18 month old daughter is teething and not sleeping through the night. Since I share a room with her this means that I am not sleeping. I found another way to workout this weekend&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My weekend workout focused completely on playing with my daughter. The best part about this was I did not realize that I was getting a workout until I sat down in the evening and my muscles were sore. I am still feeling the burn today. Friday, my daughter and I went swimming for about an hour and a half. This actually entails me pushing my daughter around the pool in her float for about 30 minutes and tossing her up and down in the water for an additional 15. Saturday and Sunday we walked to a playground that is about a block from our house. No stroller with us for this trip. My daughter either walked or I carried her when she got tired. We spent about 40 minutes each day climbing the play sets and running around. One place will tell you that you can not eat carbs if you want to lose weight. Another place will tell you that you have to cut out all meat out of your diet and become a vegetarian to see significant weight loss. I do not believe that you need to go to either extreme to lose weight. A healthy balance between all foods is the best way to lose weight and to keep it off.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The best way to lose weight is to eat small balanced meals every two to three hours. Now many people have told me that they can not eat that often because they are not hungry. They are not hungry because they have learned to starve themselves all day and then over indulge in one meal and many snacks in the evening. This is not healthy. If you force yourself to follow this eating plan, your body will get used to eating often and signal you when it is time to eat after about a month.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;A balanced small meal would contain about 3 oz of protein and 1 cup of carbs. There are many reasons that you need to get a full nights sleep when you are trying to lose weight. Many studies have been done linking weight gain to lack of sleep. When time is at a minimum, you must make sure to make time to sleep. skipping this important part of the day is just going to come back to haunt you in the end.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When you skip sleep, you will not have the energy to work out and be active. You are more likely to want to just sit in front of the TV and be lazy all day. This is fine once in a while. When it is an everyday occurrence this can end up not helping you to lose weight. It will more then likely pack on the pounds.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;When we are sleep deprived we are more likely to reach for sugary snacks to get a boost of energy. This boost of energy is not worth the calories that it will pack on. The little bit of energy that it does give you will not last long. When it dies you will again reach for something sugary to help you out. Stop this never ending circle.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Take care of yourself. Get at least 8 hours of sleep a night. Make sure the sleep is restful. We all start off trying to lose weight all ready to go and do what needs to be done. Usually about 4 weeks in to any weight loss program, the motivation starts to slip. These little goals will help to keep you focused as your motivation starts to dip. From being stuck in the office all day to having to take care of the children, the excuses are plentiful. I have found a simple cardio workout that has helped to keep me on the road to losing weight when I can not make it to the gym. Being a single mom with a full time job and a freelance writing career it is hard to always find time for myself. That is not the case with this workout mini plan.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Once an hour I do this simple repetition to increase my heart rate and get my mini workout in. I stand with me feet shoulder distance apart. I raise my leg until my knee is as high as I can go. This is kind of a modified version of marching in place. The key is to make sure to get your knees high off the ground. As I do this I bend my opposite elbow towards the knee that I am raising. I do 12 repetitions of this move for each leg. I do drink other fluids besides water but to no avail. I am not sure if this is a side effect of the Slimquick that I am taking. The bow does say to consume enough water during the course of the day. Of course I read this but every weight loss supplement says these things. I am trying to drink only water during the day for the most part. I have one cup of tea or coffee in the morning. I glass of ice tea about mid day at work. With dinner I either drink more water or an ice tea.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My lips have started to get dry and cracked from this sudden need for water. I need to make a conscious effort to make sure I drink water through out the day. Whether it is a side effect of Slimquick or not, it is a good  thing that I drink all this water. It will help me over all to lose weight. The water flushes out the water weight. It also helps to me to feel fuller. I have also started to drink a bottle of water if I decide to eat because I am bored. I had no no big slip ups the on the road to weight loss. I did notice one slipping point through out my long weekend. I am much better at keeping on top of my eating and drinking while I am at work. I completely forget to take care of myself at home at times.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I try to eat small healthy snack every 2 to 3 hours through out the day. I successfully do this while I am at work. This weekend, I went from breakfast and forgot to eat til well after dinner time. This is not good. Add in the weight loss supplement that I am taking and you have a very unhealthy habit. I drink at least 4 bottles of water a day at work. I was lucky to drink one during the day this weekend. So my new focus is to stay on top of my good habits while I am at home. I need to be able to take care of my daughter and myself.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here is my workout goals for this week:&lt;br /&gt;Gym 3 times this week&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am setting my goals for working out low because of this lingering cold. No more skipping the gym because of it though. I have heard all sorts of advice and I have probably read everything that there is out there to try and lose weight. Some of the information that I have found on how to lose weight has bordered on the totally ridiculous. It is easy to believe many of these myths about weight loss when you are like I was, desperate to lose weight at all costs. Through my many years of trying to lose weight I have come up with what I believe to be the 3 biggest myths about losing weight. I am sure that you have read many of these online or in books. You probably have even believed them at one point on your road to try and lose weight. But we live in the real world and these myths will not work to lose weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Myth 1 Carbs are bad&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;There are many diets out there that believe this myth is gospel. The concept is that to lose weight you need to completely cut carbs out of your diet. This will work in the short term to help you lose weight but in the long run will back fire. Any diet that makes you restrict what you normally eat in the long run will end making you gain more weight then you took off. You will lose weight by giving up carbs, but the moment you go back to eating normal you will gain it all back.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Myth 2 A diet pill is the answer&lt;/strong&gt;.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I have taken many weight loss supplements over the years. Yes, at one point I too believed this was all I needed to do to lose weight. I was wrong. There are what they say to be a supplement to another type of diet plan. They are only meant to help and increase what you are already doing to lose weight. They are not the quick fix bullet that many claim to be in their commercials. You need to workout and eat right for these pills to even begin to help you lose weight.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;strong&gt;Myth 3 You can lose a lot of weight fast.&lt;/strong&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anything worth having is going to take time. This is true for weight loss as well. Many doctors have tried to tell us that the only healthy way to lose weight was to lose it slow and steady. I for one was always looking at the diets that promised me that I would lose 10 pounds on 10 days. The rest of my diet plan to lose weight has been slipping this week a bit. I have not made it to the gym at all this week so far. With the head cold that has come over me, I do not sleep well at night and have decided to sleep when I should be working out.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My eating habits are all over the board. I have started eating about a cup of dry cereal at the office when I start work. This is saving me huge amounts of calories over my usual breakfast. Most mornings I would stop by Dunkin Donuts and grab a large coffee, cream and sugar, and an everything bagel with cream cheese. This is not diet friendly food. For lunch most days I eat a meal replacement bar. I did slip and hit Wawa the other day and grabbed a wrap and a coffee milkshake. I could have made a better choice to help me lose weight. And then there was the huge slip last night. I grabbed McDonald's for dinner. I hadn't eaten much all day  so I said what the heck. This is why Slimquick is not working for me exactly the way it says that it will. I am confident that it will help me lose the weight. It just will not work as fast as it says that it will.  I have not fallen off the diet, just slipped a little. I have full blown congestion and a sinus headache too. With this walking around in a fog feeling I am trying to think about how I will make my mini goals and work on trying to loose weight. The bonus of being sick is that I have absolutely no appetite. Yea! The negative, I have no desire or energy to workout. The Slimquick that I am on says that I need to keep a workout schedule. The plan also wants me to eat every 2 to 3 hours. This is not easy while being sick. I think I am going to take a break from my workout schedule to let my body get better from this cold. Hopefully I will keep on the weight loss track I am on even with this misstep. I am forcing myself to eat at least something every 3 hours to try and keep a good eating pattern. The worse part is all I want to do right now is climb back into bed. I don't think that is a good option for me. No matter what you do or where you are at on your road to lose weight. You feel like you are fat. I am having one of those days. It doesn't help that I am beginning to get a cold. I feel like I am walking around in a fog. I also made the mistake of stepping on my scale. Let me tell you a little about my battle with the scale. It doesn't matter how lose my clothes feel from the weight I lose. It doesn't matter how skinny my body may look from the diet I am on. My scale always says that I am terribly over weight for my height. Now some where in the logic part of my brain, I know that I should stop weighing myself. It is counter productive to losing weight. I still do it from time to time. Always seems I do it on a day when I am already feeling down on myself and like I haven't lost any weight. OK no pint of Ben and Jerry's to make me feel better. I did the Slimquick Cleanse for the last 7 days. I will admit, I did not follow the prescribed meal plan in the package. I'm really bad about doing that when it comes to dieting. I will tell you that the cleanse works like a laxative. I have felt a little slimmer since I started it. I believe this is mostly water weight though. I did follow the proper amount of water each day. They suggest 8 glasses of 8oz  of water. So basically that is 4  of the 16 oz water bottles that I get from the store. That was easy enough. I am happy with how I feel after the cleanse for it is my PMS time of the month. Usually I am very bloated and feeling over fat and not like I have lost weight. So all good things. During the cleanse I did hit the gym for an hour and a half 3 times during the week. I did 45 minutes of cardio on the treadmill and the circuit for my weight training.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am starting Slimquick on the full 2 pill dosage. The bottle recommends that I start by taking 1 at designated times for the first week. I'm bad at following directions like that one. This one seems much easier then ones that want me to take them 30 minutes before meals. Hello. I am a mom and I never really know in advance when I am going to eat. I have battled to control my weight for my entire life. I was a chubby child and was ridiculed most of my school life. It was in high school that I started my first diet program. From that point on I was on the search for that one thing that would have me lose the weight. There were times in my life in hopes of making whatever the newest miracle was work I was only eating once a day. This was not healthy and I soon felt the affects of it.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today I am still looking for that one thing that will aid my goal to lose weight.
